
Joshua Bangera Young holds a BA in English Education and a MS in Education & Adolescent Literacy. In 2013, he became a founding teacher at a public charter school in Prince George’s County, Maryland. There, he taught English Composition for ten years. During his tenure, he received several awards for his dedication in the classroom, including Innovative Teaching Methods in 2015, Irreplaceable Teacher in 2016. And in 2022, he was awarded Educator of the Year by the Maryland Charter School Alliance. He has been featured in Pearson Education’s “Success Stories,” Kansas City Voices, and The Avalon Literary Review. Before teaching, Joshua worked as a theater stage hand, a freelance photographer, and a videographer for a CNN-affiliated news station.
Joshua lives in Silver Spring, Maryland with his wife.
